A personal data breach is when a data incident has been confirmed to constitute a breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, theft, or unauthorised access of personal data. Data incidents or suspected personal data breaches should be reported immediately upon discovery. Timely reporting of incidents will ensure vulnerabilities are detected and the impact on any affected personal data is minimised. It will also ensure we are able to notify the relevant Supervisory Authority within the appropriate time limit if applicable.
